Introduction
My name is Heather Brown, and I am in the Education Specialist Program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Summer 2013 and will graduate Summer 2014. I graduated from Valdosta State University in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade for 4 years before I started my Master's degree. In 2011, I graduated from Valdosta State University with a Master's degree in Education with a concentration in Middle Grades Math and Science.
I currently teach math to 7th grade students at Willie J. Williams Middle School in Colquitt County. The Instructional Technology Specialist degree from Kennesaw State University has provided many opportunities that will be useful in a middle grades math classroom. My future plans are to stay in the classroom teaching.
This portfolio is going to be used to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and ISTE NETS-C standards. Under the KSU logo, there are many links that you can explore. The most important is the "standards" link. This link provides the artifacts and reflections that were completed during this program of study. Each artifact is a representation of the mastery of each standard.
My experience at Kennesaw State University has been very enjoyable and provided me with great technology that I have used in my classroom. The techniques have also allowed me to assist other teachers in my school.
